Without the support of you, our regular attendees, our amazing wee venue just wouldn’t survive. MacArts is a charity that gets by with a small, but brilliant team and gang of dedicated volunteers who you see running the bar, collecting tickets and making you feel welcome.
Becoming a Friend of MacArts is a way for you to show your support for your venue, but also supporting grassroots culture in the Scottish Borders, across Scotland and the UK. From Open Mic and Incubator new music nights, to comedy, theatre and some of the best live music new and old anywhere, MacArts punches above its weight, but can only deliver knockout shows with your continued support.

Friends of MacArts terms and conditions
1. Membership tiers
- Membership is open to individuals aged 18 and over. Tiers include Bronze (£3 per month) Silver (£5 per month), Gold (£8 per month) and Platinum (£20 per month). Benefits vary by tier as outlined in the membership promotional material.
- MacArts is a registered charity and reserves the right to amend membership tiers, prices, or benefits with reasonable notice to members.
2. Payments and subscription
- Memberships are billed monthly via recurring Direct Debit. By setting up a Direct Debit, you authorize MacArts to collect the agreed monthly amount until cancellation.
- If a payment fails, MacArts will attempt to collect it again. Continued non-payment will result in the suspension or termination of your membership benefits.
3. Benefits
- Physical merchandise (such as button badges and members-only t-shirts) will be provided upon successful receipt of your initial membership payments. T-shirts are limited to one per active Platinum or Multi-platinum member per subscription period unless otherwise stated.
- Free tickets to Incubator shows are subject to venue capacity and must be claimed/booked in advance. They are non-transferable and have no cash alternative.
- Priority access to select events (Multi-platinum tier) gives members an advance booking window, but does not guarantee ticket availability for sell-out shows.
- Invitations to the MacArts Members Christmas/Annual Party are subject to venue capacity and RSVP deadlines.
4. Cancellations and refunds
- You may cancel your monthly Direct Debit at any time through your bank or by contacting MacArts directly. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current paid monthly cycle. MacArts does not offer partial or full refunds for payments already processed.
5. Communications
- By signing up, you agree to receive the regular members' email newsletter and essential admin updates regarding your membership. You can opt out of promotional emails at any time.
6. Data protection
- Personal data collected for your membership will be processed securely in accordance with UK GDPR and MacArts’ Privacy Policy, solely for administrative and communication purposes.
