The Crazy Craigs
The Crazy Craigs (aka The Dynamic Crazy Craigs and The Craig Brothers) was a very popular Berwick band in the 1960s with a big local fan following. They played a lot in Northumberland but also did regular work for Duncan Mackinnon in the Borders. They took bus loads of fans with them wherever they were playing so were always a good supporting band to have.
Alex Craig (vocals and guitar)
Neil (Junior) Craig (lead guitar and vocals)
Jimmy Handyside (drums)
Andrew (Jasper) Lough (saxophone)
Alan Thorburn (rhythm guitar)
Billy Roberston (bass guitar)
The Craig brothers were noted for their harmony singing and included several Everly Brothers songs in their repertoire.
The Crazy Craigs shared the support with Seabreeze and the Mariners when Herman’s Hermits, at that time number 1 in the charts, played in Berwick. The Hermits were paid £200 and the support bands £15 each!
