Rue and The Rockets formed in 1957/58 turning professional in 1960 with 3 Brothers
Rueben aged 11/12 drums Trixon which Ruben still uses now
Jimmy aged 15/16 lead n rhythm guitar Fender Stratocaster and Gibson
Alan aged13/14 bass guitar Fender Precision bass
Equipment was bought from Jimmy Dias in Carlisle and they bought their first PA from Clinkscales
In 1960 our cousin Brian Codona joined us for about 2 years playing rhythm guitar
1961 Brian’s brother Henry Codona for about 18 months on vocals
They both left to be married
1963 -1966 Gerald Baty joined when his work allowed playing keyboard
1967 -68 Mike Armstrong playing sax
1968-72 Arthur Belcher playing sax
1972 to the present day the band are back where they started with 3 brothers
Their first gig was at Haltwhistle working men’s club and their biggest gig was Seat Car Promotion at Duns Castle Scotland
The band celebrated 50 and 55 years at the sands centre Carlisle and they celebrated 60 years at Harraby Theatre Carlisle
